Pop-A-Lock Certified A World-Class Franchise By The Franchise Research Institute

Lincoln, Neb (April 12, 2012) – Pop-A-Lock has received World-Class Franchise certification from the Franchise Research Institute® and Fran Survey®

The recognition comes after an independent survey conducted by the Franchise Research Institute, in which 72.8% of all Pop-A-Lock franchisees participated.  The survey was designed to determine the level of franchisee satisfaction within the Pop-A-Lock franchise system.

Guess who can make a key for your car?

Though car keys come in many shapes and technical designs, they can generally be narrowed down to four categories and price ranges:

  1. Mechanical Key – your standard metal key. Pricing ranges from $50 to $100 depending on if you simply need a copy (duplication) or if we need to make a key without the benefit of a copy (origination).
  2. Chip Key – also known as a transponder or VATS key. Pricing ranges from $100 to $150 depending on duplication or origination.
  3. High Security Key – The latest generation of car keys that are laser cut with prices ranging from $150 to $300 and on some makes and models can exceed $500 all depending on duplication or origination.
  4. Proximity Key – Looks more like a keyless remote with prices ranging from $100 to $200. We simply program the new proximity key to your car utilizing a specialized locksmith programming device.

Occasionally use your car keys to unlock your car door

Most cars unlock using a keyless remote. While this is a convenient feature, never using your keys to unlock your car door can result in unnecessary and costly maintenance. Over time, dirt and grime can build up in the lock cylinder preventing your car key from turning the cylinder and unlocking your car. In the event your keyless remote fails (gets wet, batteries fully discharged, etc.) and your key doesn’t turn the cylinder, you could find yourself on the outside looking in.

To avoid this possible inconvenience and possible maintenance and repair expenses Pop-A-Lock of Amarillo suggests you occasionally use your car door key to unlock your car.
